Our Journey Home...Part 1.

We began our long journey to Utah from Virginia by joining the rest of the summer crowds on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a birds-eye view of our beautiful State of Virginia.

We finished our first leg of the journey by stopping over in Lexington, KY to visit our friends the Blodgetts. Stephanie was a friend of mine from High School and we luckily have been able to keep our friendship going! They took us the Kentucky Farm Park which was the best thing that could happen to our horse loving Savannah!

Our next stopover was with our dear friends the Smith's in Illinois! And lucky for us we stopped on the perfect day, Darby's birthday! It was such a relaxing place for our kids and like it always is with Steve and Heather we picked right up where we left off! Heather and I got a run in the next morning which is by far the highlight of the trip for me being able to run with one of my old running buddies from Ithaca. And Steve and Harvey got in a game of softball which apparently to no one's surprise, the lost!

Lyns, how long will you be in Utah? Would love to see you again. I love those long road trips across america. There is so much beauty and gratitude out those car windows.
