Little Miss Tiny turns 7!

Here are just a few descriptions of my 7 year old Maddie:

She is the middle child. I am realizing that even though I vowed never to make her feel like the middle child; she has become the middle child. She is quietly playing or patiently waiting for our attention. When we tell Madison "just a second," she is the only one of our children that can actually wait for just a second.

She is tiny. Although doctors have verified that she is in the 50%; compared to my other children, she is tiny! She is the only one that can provide me with the "shock and awe" with each birthday she has. I can't believe she is 7! I am positive this comes from the fact that she never changes. What she looked like at 3 years old, she looks like now! Her brother, who is 3 years younger than her, only has a few inches until he will meet her gaze!

She is an athelete. She took her first steps at 9 months old. She could climb out of her crib at 16 months old. She climbed up door frames at the age of 3. She climbed 30 foot flag poles at the age of 4. She can now do 10 pull ups unassisted.

She is determined. She epitomizes the phrase, "Anything you can do, I can do better." It is her strong will and determination that gives her the drive to be in constant competition with those around her. If she sees Savannah throw a good softball; she wants to through it farther. If she sees her friend do 10 flips around the school bars; she can do 20!

She is unwavering. Madison is a child you can talk to. She is a child that you can teach gospel principles to and she will listen. She is a child that I can see not giving into peer pressure. She doesn't put up with anything that doesn't fall in line with "her" beliefs. I just hope "her beliefs" fall in line with mine and the peer pressure she is withstanding is the "bad" kind of peer pressure. Now with such unwaverance can come stubborness. She can be unwavering in her stance when she doesn't agree with you. She can be unwavering in her arguements. She can be unwavering in her bad attitude. Fortunately she uses this quality more as a strength.

She is a heartthrob. Just by watching her my heart can ache with adoration. By listening to her my heart can beam with pride. By just holding her my heart can burst with love. She makes my heart throb. I love this little girl.
